New Qualification Degree

New short term Program in actuarial analyst careers

The IFoA has developed and launched the internationally recognized CAA qualification membership category. The CAA qualification is suitable for those working in technical roles alongside actuaries in departments such as pricing, data analysis and marketing. The main function of this qualification is to provide professional certification for those providing support to actuarial teams.

The CAA syllabus consists of six modules, takes between two and three years to complete and is intended to professionalise the growing number of technical and analytical roles in companies. There is a strong demand for the CAA in the financial sector and we worked closely with employers in developing the new professional standard.

Certified Actuarial Analysts are clearly differentiated from Fellows and Associates. CAA applies the same high standards, for which the Fellowship is renowned, to professional technical and analytical roles within the actuarial and wider financial sphere unlike an actuarial fellowship course which typically takes 8 to 10 years.

More Information on the CAA can be found on the IFoA website. www.actuaries.org.uk/becoming-actuary/caa

One entry test and five exam modules, focusing mainly on calculations and bookwork. Module 5 will be a practical exam on spreadsheet modeling:

» Minimum 2 years part time to qualify.

» Module 0 can be taken by non-members.

» It is intended that Modules 0-4 will be delivered by Computer Based Assessment. Module 5 would be delivered Online.
